Hey, I'm currently sub-editting your piece on the History of Opera for the guide.
If there's anything you'd like to add or discuss, post it here

Hello, Rogue Researcher!
I was very happy with the version of my History of Opera that got recommended. There's only one point that I'd like to discuss, and that is the links.
I had a link to my recommended article on Castrati in Opera A543485, but Gnomon pointed out that the entry numbers get changed when entries are edited. If it is possible to find out what entry number will be assigned to that when it is edited, could you update the link?
I would really like to add links to these recommended entries also:
A566408 Ludwig van Beethoven - Pianist and Composer (by Gnomon)
This would come on the word Beethoven under the header 18th century and subheader Ballad opera and singspiel.
A566390 Gioacchino Rossini - Composer (by Niwt)
This would come on the word Rossini under the header 19th century and subheader Bel canto.
Again, if it is possible to find the new entry numbers for these, links would be great.
Finally, I wrote a more detailed entry on French Opera for Archangel Kes' French Music University Project. Do University entries get their numbers changed too? If so, then the same thing applies as with the other entries I've mentioned. Its at
A546211 The French Opera Tradition
If its number won't be changed, then I would like to put a link to this under the header 19th century and subheader France, on the words 'French opera' in the sentence 'Opéra comique was the lighter genre of French opera..' It would also fit to link to the same French opera entry from the word France (or Debussy) in the second sentence under the 20th century header and Early 20th century subheader.
As you can see, I love links. If it's not possible to get any of these in at the moment, that's fine. I'll keep a note of the entries in case the opportunity arises later.
Thanks for the enquiry, and good luck with the job of sub-editing.

Unfortunately...there's no way for me to tell what the entry number will be once it's through the system...I'm just an organic spelling, grammar and code checker, lol.
I can put those other links in though

Oh, in that case I think the only one that would still work would be the French Opera one. The Beethoven and Rossini ones havent' been edited yet either. Don't worry about it! There's enough work in what you have to do already.

Apologies from me here too (see "a personal apology" on this page). The Castrati are stuck with me at the moment. BTW Azara - of course, I would like to hear from you if you have any points you want to add. If you edit the entry on site, please let me know - the version I have to edit dates from 10 May.

My Rossini entry has a new number now Azara but it's not edited - does that make sense? http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A593011

Hi, Niwt!
Since there don't seem to be any changes at all, I think the sub-editor is still actually working on this. That happened to me with one entry - I went rushing off to contact the sub-editor when in fact they had only just started to work on it.
I'd be inclined to wait a few days, myself, just keeping an eye on the new entry. If a few changes and links appear in the next day or two, then someone (either the sub-editor or someone in the Towers) is still working on it. It's only when it comes up as pending that the changes are definitely finalised. If you're bothered by anything in the pending version, then Ashley or Sam can straighten it out very quickly - Sam definitely fixed a little error I had made when the entry was at the pending stage.
Good luck with it anyway! I'm glad it's got an edited number now, because I want to link to it from an entry I'm writing about opera houses, and I missed out on the link from the History of Opera entry because it didn't have the new number.
