Hello Bk
Marmite Posted Dec 30, 2005
Your welcome
It was when i was in hospital and all the good wishes that i got from people on here, i asked my boy to add them to my friends list, and as you were kind enough to wish me the very best, that was why i put you on there, i should have asked first though
We had a great xmas thanks and even added two more people to the house, one being my daughters friend who had just been kicked out of his home and had nowhere to go, so he came here and will live with us until he gets himself sorted.
The other being an elderly lady across the road who's son died recently, she has no other family so being the nice people we are she came and stayed with us for 3 days also.
Then she had a fall and will live with us until she is better, so now we have 7 people living here and a big dog, but its all good fun and if i can help people when they need it, i will, lifes too short for misery
How was your xmas

Our xmas was (and is!) lovely. As me and my other half are in care work we hadn't had many christmasses when one or both of us wasn't working. He has a 9-5 job now (community psychi nurse) and I just do agency work so we stayed home, ate too much and played board games with our girls. I hope it's a christmas they remember as it's been one of the best! I was worried about giving up fulltime work and they didn't get the portable dvds, ps2 own tv/video etc that their cousins got but mummy didn't have to leave at 1pm to do the late shift!
How great that you opened your house to those who needed it over xmas, that's what it's all about

My wife used to be a carer, and i used to operate the emergency line from home from 5pm till 9am next day, plus all weekend, i had the phones all over last xmas, and the carers were phoning up left right and centre saying "i dont feel well, can you cover my work" and it was like , not enough carers to cover other work, and it was a bloody nightmare, so i packed it in, couldnt be doing with that

Hi Bk
Just had a really lovely day. the girls did a 4 mile walk over the mendips. Lots of ruins, burial mounds, hill fort then a look at some pot holes followed by a pasty in Wells. they've just gone off to sleep and I thonk they'll sleep pretty well!
did you enjoy New Years Eve? we stayed in and watched School of rock which was ok I suppose then a bit of Jooles Holland who is I've seen him a few times in concert.
offto tackle the ironing as the kids are back at school this weekend. I always wish that they were off a little longer!

Hi Bk
Sorry I missed this. I'm fine, the kids are back at school after the hols and peace has decended! Actually I really miss them when they're not here . Waiting in today on a brand new computer This one is going upstairs so that the girls can play their games (but no internet then we can use the new one. Meanwhile I have to clear out the pit that is the spare room so that we can move things around Which is what I should be doing now!!!

Hello Bk
Lovely to hear from you. How is being back at work going?
Did you make it to the meet? i saw your name on the list. I hope they all had a good time. I'm not sure I know enough people here to go to one of those, maybe one day!
I've spent the last week trying to get near the computer as we have a new one and we all want to be on it . actually my husband spent all his time transferring files from the old one so I suppose that was more constructive than me being on here Still it's all back up and running again and the look fab on a flat screen .
Baby sitting my friends little boy today (nearly 2) so better keep an eye on him!
talk soon
