Yes, maybe it really does.
But h2g2 is an international community. Please don't expect that everyone speaks a perfect British English 
Most of the non-native speakers do not need hints. They are perfectly aware of any gaps in their knowledge.

Your the one that needs to cool down. You're right, this is an international community, but most of the people here speak English. If I was contributing to a German site I would expect to be politely informed of the gaps in my German. Of which there are many.
