Blood clot in my Leg

This happened to me. After recovering from the pneumonia, I felt great for a few days. But I've been having strange pains in my right leg. I thought it was just from being out of shape and immediately returning to my laundry-delivery work (entailing lots of walking and carrying heavy bags). The pain briefly got better but on this past Tuesday came back with a vengeance. It started in my upper thigh and I thought it was from over-exertion ... but last night it spread down to my calf! It was quite excruciating. I did go to the art class this morning; my friends saw that my right calf was swollen and red, and urged me to go to my doctor. Which I did ... she sent me for tests and those showed a huge blockage in the main vein of my right leg, which returns blood pumped down through the arteries. This is why the leg got so swollen. And it also hurts like heck. So now I'm on blood thinners and hoping that a clot doesn't dislodge and end up in my lung! I'm hoping for the best though ...

you're not having a lot of luck! Hope the blood thinners work, take it easy, rest up and return to full health soon!

I folks, thanks for the well-wishes! Leg still hurts a lot ... I think I figured out what caused the blood clot: too much sitting in front of the computer! I can't really think of anything else.

Interestingly, when my mum got pneumonia last year, she was given blood thinners along with antibiotics and fortunately made a good recovery within a few days.
Hope things are continuing to improve for you
