1. Here is a photo showing the verdant green landscape around Haenertsburg. In the front you see the tall, lush grass dotted throughout with yellow-flowered daisies. The valleys and riverbanks feature trees, extensive forests growing in some places.

2. This is a Gladiolus dalenii, one of the commonest gladioli in these regions. It's a member of the iris family. These flowers are delicately patterned in speckles and thin stripes, not easily visible except from very close-up:

3. These are Morning Glories, likely the species Ipomoea (or Turbina) oblongata. They grow rampantly in the moist climate, with beautiful trumpet flowers:

4. Another little animal critter! This is a kind of pill millipede. It was just about an inch long. These can roll themselves up into round little balls; ordinary millipedes just curl up into a spiral. This one was walking around on the moist road:
