Hi, Willem!

I haven't replied to your holiday email yet, so figured Id drop you a line here and say hello and all that stuff.

I've been kind of busy, overwhelemed, and periodically stressed out between my new job, my SAD, missing my old co-workers, and having fun with K whilst he seeks new employment opportunities as well. So I've been a bit neglectful of my friends from h2g2 lately. I'm sorry if I've been that way with you.

I have, whether I reply to them or not, been reading and following all of your fascinating journal entires, especially the ones about plants and stuff. You've been really helpful to me with cultivating my little house plants. I wish I had your green thumb!

So, I hope you also had a lovely holiday season. I spent the Xmas holiday with K's family. We visited my grandma for her 82nd birthday at the end of last month. And we had a nice, quiet New Year's celebration at home, with K playing CD-deejay and me drinking a wee bit too much cheap champagne. (I hardly drink at all these days, so a little bit can be a bit too much... gotta get used to that!)

Otherwise I've mostly been having as much fun as I can, what with watching heaps of movies and seeing bands play and stuff. K's a lot of fun, even running errands is an adventure and isn't boring in the least.

I think of you often, and hope you're doing well. I loved the paintings you shared with us all here, too. Thanks.

Take care, and I do hope to hear from you again really soon. I'd still love to chat on the phone one day, too, if I ever get my long distance service reinstated.

Hiya Psychocandy and thanks very much for your message!

Don't worry about me feeling neglected! Of course I love talking to you here but I understand if you're busy or stressed or what not! The same happens with me. Anyways, from my side I do read your threads regularly also! I dom try and say something every now and then.

I'm happy to hear your holidays went well! I'm also happy to hear about your grandmother - I don't have any grandparents any more. My father's father died before I was born; my father's mother died when I was about two years old; my mother's father died when I was about seven; and my mother's mother died when I was about fifteen. So I'm happy for you that you still have your grandma with you! Her 82nd birthday ... wow!!

Well I hope things go well with you on the 'SAD' and stress fronts ... I'm sending prayers, good thoughts and vibes your way!

Me, I'm also quite busy these days. I'm going to start studying this year ... tomorrow I'm going to the University to register. Going to start just with a single course ... German ... to get my confidence back. If I do well at the German, and manage to do that without neglecting or messing up my other 'projects', I'm going to think about studying Botany.

Anyways, thanks again for your message here! I *would* love to chat with you on the phone some day!

I wish I knew more about the sort of music you like ... I mean the actual bands, the actual music, since the stuff you've mentioned so far never gets played here in South Africa. The stuff I like is also stuff that is not very widely known, but mostly from alternative British bands in the eighties and early nineties.
