Yes Willem, I saw Barton's posting of his understanding of the SL/LeKZ situation. I read all the relevant threads I could find and I have thought about it a lot. I sincerely hope no more harm is done, to LeKZ or anyone else.

You have a point about 'lifetime' bans. As an easy example, I can quite imagine teenagers getting themselves banned and then growing into model citizens (you never know! all model citizens must have been teenagers once . . . but on the other hand . . . thinking of my niece . . . it does seem pretty impossible ). These model citizens would still be banned, which doesn't make a lot of sense. As you said, somewhere else, people can learn and change.

What rather ticks me off is to read everywhere about this so-called 'community' where people need to follow rules to fit in. I tellya, I am not unaware of what happens in 'real life', and there are a large number of prize assholes that I know over here who are considered 'upstanding members of the community', and they follow the rules ... in fact in some cases they *make* the rules ... but they are still prize assholes. I ain't naming any names so nobody better moderate me; it ain't defamation, there's no way for anybody to know who I'm talking about. But anyways. As far as people go, LeKZ are far above average, in all good qualities, as far as I can tell, so if *they* ain't good enough for *this* community, the rest of us are in some trouble.

LeKZ aren't perfect, sure ... but who are? If they are so difficult to get along with, then why do *I* manage to get along with them so well? They are fantastic people to be friends with. And it's not necessary to agree with them on everything ... I've disagreed with them a large number of times, but I acknowledge their expertise in the areas where they claim it, and I respect their views, in general. It's not so hard. If people over here can't manage to be friends with LeKZ, it is *their* loss.

It really does seem to me as if whatever standard they're applying is a totally cockeyed one.
