You say a subject of your choice, but I notice that most of the 45 words are famous people. I'll stick to that I think, helps me narrow the field down somewhat

or the On This Day thing.
I guess you don't really mind. I just hope I don't write about the same thing as some of the other 100s...

Been enjoying conversing with yourself there.
If you want to keep it a surprise to the rest of the readerhip you can email it to me

It can be on anything. Yes I keep to famous people, or events with a link to the day/week in question but that doesn't tie any of you lot down. I'm throwing it open. The fact that the Guides most erudite are confining themselves to 45 words is enough for me

I'll pop it here, I doubt anyone is peeping
As an Aussie Researcher I think I may attempt something on that theme...

Sir Donald Bradman 1908 - 2001
Learnt cricket using wicket and golf ball!
Debuted aged 19, later Test Match selection.
Bodyline, then Ashes triumph - Aussies dubbed 'Invincibles'.
Batting average: 99.94 - iconic statistic. Journo's request:
"legal limit on the number of runs Bradman should be allowed to make!"
'The Don' - Australian Legend.

Ammendment as follows (although I'm sure the original counts as 45 without the header):

(the h2g2 links might be nice if you can keep those, but aren't integral )

Might need to recount DD I checked and rechecked, unless you count 99,94 as 2 words it makes 46, not sure where your 48 is
