Confusion about accepted entries

I've just received an e-mail saying that one of my entries has been accepted... since you appear under editor, I thought I'd come and say thanks for allowing my work to become part of the guide. However, on the way here a few questions popped into my mind, and I thought you'd be as good a person as any to answer them...

Currently I have two entries accepted... they now have much higher article numbers than they previously had. One of my other articles ('Juggling') has also made the transition to a much higher article number - but it has yet to become part of the guide. Am I witnessing here a complex multi-tiered system, or is it a technical problem?

BTW... who came up with the 'spawn of satan' title for the Furbies article? I assume someone in the office has had firsthand contact with one of them...

Whenever we look at an article and decide to take it forward for approval, our system makes a copy of your page that we can edit. This means that when approved, it will have a different article number. This is because we want to keep your original available, as we may edit yours heavily.

It's mainly because our policy is that we don't throw things away - including your original pages, and we might change your article in the process of approval, and you might want to keep your original.

As for 'Spawn of Satan', that was me. I've never had firsthand contact with one - some things are just obvious.

Tim

Sound like a lot of thought has gone it to it... which can only be good.

I'll leave you now to get on with doing whatever it is you do smiley - smiley.

The Dancing Tree

One thing I found odd was that one of my entries was edited by one of you guys, but not put in the guide!!! (Unless, of course, the lag between these two things has increased).

I have an article which has been in that particular state of limbo for over a week now... I wouldn't worry about it. Probably. smiley - smiley

I just like saying limbo

Also happened to me before; after a few days of limbo the entry was rejected. Now I have two more in limbo. Ah, well, I tend to be in limbo in every other aspect of my life, too, so I feel right at home with it here...
