Mr Bywater, thank you for continuing to entertain your devotees. Not only did I enjoy your columns in Punch before its demise and purchase by the Fayeds, but I actually went out and bought the collected articles, your Bargepole book.
You are one of the best essayists writing today. Not that you need to be told that, but I thought I'd nail my colours to the mast (or g-string to the flagpole) and declare myself to be an official (and completely non-scary) Bywater Groupie.
