I followed your link to the Devon photo gallery, and realized that I visited there on my last (and only) trip to the UK! I stayed overnight in Okehampton. We stayed there because I wanted to walk through Dartmoor at night, but my friend wouldn't let me (spoil sport!). My most vivid memory is the herd of sheep that were right outside our hotel window, and their constant bleeting all night long! smiley - online2long

Of course at the time, you were probably just some snotty-nosed teenager! smiley - winkeye

Okehampton's a nice little place. Your friend was probably very sensible - Dartmoor is covered in bogs and old mine workings, not good when you can't see, as well as being extremely creepy at night!

I currently live in Paignton, one of the three Torbay towns, but I really hail from Dartmouth, which is about 7 miles from here. That doesn't sound much, but you have to take a ferry across the River Dart, which makes the journey take rather longer.

Hope you visit again one day!

I'd like to! It was lovely! Maybe if I can pry myself away from the West End ... smiley - winkeye
