Client's notebook has been running windows disk defragmenter all night.
Still not finished.
A 1.3Gb, 512Mb RAM notebook computer shouldn't be _that_ slow..
Thus is revealed the inherent, basic design flaw of a monolithic os

or having a program running in the background that causes it to reset every half hour or so...I've had similar on a windows machine and couldn;t work out why it was taking so long until I coincidentally happened to see it reset back to 0%.
