Conversations for entries normally remain available even if the entry is deleted...
Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the 'sheep of you' thread to which you refer. I thought it was a Welcome Mat conversation, but I've searched all of the ones I authored, and it isn't there.. 
Maybe there's a way to define the search parameters more precisely? I tried quotes, as: "the sheep of you" and "the 
of you".. And hootoo's search is too slow/non-specific
