I'm a dramatic soprano, apparently, at least when I'm not being an alto or a tenor. I'm having a Puccini moment at the moment, and am realising just how hard "Madame Butterfly" really is...
What do you sing as a Lyric soprano?

Hello Fello Soprano!
What a nice coincidence as I too am having a Puccini moment as of late! I'm working on the "O Mio Babbino Caro" aria from Gianni Schicchi, which compared to some things I've sung, is not so difficult really. It's a lot of fun, and I am enjoying it. I was lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic performance of Madame Butterfy by our local opera company recently, and I am looking forward to exploring that music some time as well. While working on the Gianni Schicchi piece, I am also having a bit of fun with a lovely and bouncy (though rather difficult I must admit) little Mozart Allelulia from the Exultate Jubilate. And as I'm sure you find as well, there's always so much other music out there you hear and say, "Yes, yes, I want to fit that into my repitiore somewhere too!" I started out as a Lyric Soprano, but now my instructor tells me that I'm moving more into Coloratura territory. I suppose we'll just see where I end up. Please write again and let me know how you and Madame Butterfly are getting on!
