HI Emily:
So nice to meet you ~~ .
Thanks so much for the links and all the useful information. It will take me some time to get through all of it, but i will do that to be certain.
I do have a couple of questions:
1. one of my pieces appeared on my own site (tant mieux at squarespace) and is copyrighted by me. someone wrote to me here and i think, thought that the piece was not mine or that the copyright belonged elsehwere etc etc. When the piece says "copyright by Sadi Ranson-Polizzotti" that is me (my full name didn't fit your form)
Also, the "squarespace" copyright is that they copyright for YOU the site holder, as an additional protection. But, the work IS mine.
I am a professional writer/journalist and have been widely published, so any questions as to my credibilty or authenticity or copyright just let me know and i'd be glad to clear that up. I do understand that i am trying to write for the EG and would be thrilled to see my work there and i know the person who wrote liked the piece i wrote, but there were some issues.
I'd be happy to rewrite/tweek it a bit (it was the one "Gracefully Insane" - but here is the rub: i've noticed that ALL Of my posts so far seem to be gone!!
Where would i find them? Am i simply not looking in the correct place? They are not there - perhaps because there was some question? i don't know. Do i need to repost them? I'm confused. They both appear in much shortened forms, but not the full review, so i'm at a loss...
Can you tell me where to look to find them... I believe this is MY error and i'm looking in the wrong place.
for now, i must run out to the hospital, so i will not be online until tomorrow (your time, most likely - i live in the U.S. for now... alas), but will be back in a few hours to check your responses.
Please do not be offended by any of this; i'm new, i was concerned when the copyright thing came up because i'm proud of my work and known for it and felt a bit that i was being told it was not my own (after so much effort! )
i never ever ever ever plagarize. If anything, i've had the opposite happen to me and that makes me very unhappy. I found this site because someone who wrote for you must have linked to my own site and i found you in my log of visitors and thought why not...
so again, check out the thread and you'll see what i'm talking about. My own site is called Tant Mieux and is owned by ME. Square Space is simply the host - i designed, manage, and do ALL of the writing there... it is simply a really nice looking blog, but very professional and won Oustanding Site from SquareSpace. I hope that is a bonus and not a hinderance to my success here.
I'm so happy to be here. An old friend, Donald Carne-Ross, used to run or be one of the top honchos here at BBC and is a dear friend i used to work with and knew for many years - i was rather hoping this would be something i could do for his honor as well. I only say his name because you might know it and him and one of the pieces i might write is about him... if that is allowed (i have his permission).
Anyway, i do interviews as well - so be in touch and thank you thank you thank you for the very warm welcome. Feel free of course to private email me at any time.
I am ever grateful and say hello to home for me!! i miss it terribly! .
For you . And for me... zooming off to the hospital for my treatment now.
Be well, and thanks again. I'm so happy to know you.

Hi Emily:
I FOUND my posts by cruising about. I'm a pretty quick study, so hope i won't have too many stupid questions. Bear with me...
Thanks for everything again and i'm glad to see they are still there. I do have some anecdotal original fiction - you noted a link. How would i go about doing that. It's actually NON-fiction, never published anywhere, about my epilepsy and ithought it would be the perfect anecdotal story for you perhaps.
Let me know about where that might go. It IS nonfiction, but not a review, and not fiction and IS in the first person.
Any thoughts?
Thanks again ~~ sadi ranson-polizzotti

Nice to hear from you sadi_ranson_polizzotti
Afraid I'm the wrong person to ask about the copyright issues, I find them somewhat confusing, and often have to ask advice about them myself. Looks like your getting some good advice from your Peer Review posts. If you're still unsure, you could try reading and asking at <./>Writing-Copyright</.> don't be put off by the page looking different.
Hmmm First Person experiences can be submitted to Alternative Writing. You click 'Submit Entry', same as you did for the Entries you have in Peer Review and select 'Alternative Writing' from the choice on the drop-down.
Or to <./>ThePost</.> never having submitted anything to the post myself, I'm not totally sure how, but I think there are instructins there. (It seems Shazz, the editor of is unwell at the moment)

Hi Emmily:
Call me Sadi, please -- first names much more informal...
Thanks for the advice re: memoir etc. and i'll certainly take you up on that and see where i can go.
Last night, i printed out all of the rules and regulations as well as the copyright information (though i know copyright i don't know your specific rules, so i read up on those ~ but they are /were what i imagined, so we're clear on that i should think.) I have everything in a folder for reference.
I'm looking forward to hopefully writing for you, and writing original pieces; my only mistake was to submit work that i had published on my own site at www.tantmieux.squarespace.com, which i do own the copyright for, and a piece that i published at blogcritics, but also there again, the copyright remains with me and for their part, they encourage syndication and for us to publish the same or a version of the piece elsewhere.
For the piece on my site, i altered it quite a bit, removing personal stuff etc. to make it more for the BBC specifically, but even so, since it appeared on my own blog, i don't think it can be used, sad to say because i really like it and seemed the editor did too, but it just won't work out this time - i think so anyway. alas....
But... ever the optimist, i am submitting new and original work that i'm not even publishing on my own blog. Should the BBC pass on it, then fair game for me to publish elsewhere as far as i know, but if not, which is great, then i'd be happy to turn over the copyright. Thanks for the links
one question for you: the more information about yourself area looks like an entry - so i'm a bit confused by that. I want to put in the information about myself so people know who i am, but where EXACTLY should i do that (link would be great; i read the instructions, but when i got to the page, it looks suspiciously like the other page for entries for Peer Review for the EG and i did not want to make that mistake again. Could you advise re; that specific issue, or have i given enough information already? I wonder, is there a place i should put my other URL etc etc. ? I just wasn't clear on that, even after searching around and since i'm being over-cautious likely as a newbie, i don't want to frustrate or irritate anyone or make any mistakes beyond any i may have already made -- albeit inadvertently and w/ no ill intent, of course.
So - all that said, i'm working on a double review of two books re; Paris; must reads for anyone who is travelling to France, in my opinion and worth the effort for the BBC and if you pass, then i know of others that would take, so either way, it is a review i'm very much into doing.
Let me know about personal info etc. and i'll do that right away.
You are SO helpful and SO lovely to deal with... i can't thank you enough for making me feel so very welcome...
Please do call me Sadi ~~~ it's much nicer, no?
Be well, have a great day and we'll be in touch. As for delay in responding to you, just the time difference i'm afraid. My apologies about that as well.
Cheers,
Sadi

You're well organised and it certainly seems you like writing Sadi, glad you're getting to grips with the copyright issues.
h2g2 is often quiet over the weekend, so don't be concerned if your Entries don't get many replies over the weekend.
If you want to, you can insert a link to your website on your Space, providing it's not an advertising website, (which from what you've said, I don't think it is).
As I see you have information about yourself, I assume you've figured out the question you asked. If you want to know how I got the coloured text, pictures/graphics etc you'd need to change your page to GuideML for that, you can find out more here A2669051
Nice to know your enjoying yourself here

hi Emmily and thanks
Yes, quiet over the weekend, but still good and informational and i am happy to be sure. I do write a great deal - a sort of hypergraphia, a complication of my temporal lobe epilepsy they say, so that's that. I thought my next piece would be about that ~ TLE since i saw you have one on diabetes. Anyway, will be getting to work on all sorts of things ~~~
I'm so glad to know you. Still haven't sorted out how to change my numbers to a name or saying ~ did you tell me that? i'll go through the thread and see, because that much i would like to do.
You're so helpful, i hope you don't mind me and my newbie questions and i'll try hard not to be too stupid in them ...
Do the best i can ~ thanks for such a warm reception. I can't wait to get to know you better as well as meet others and get to know them as well.
This is indeed a good place ~~ ~~lucky i stumbled across. I did because someone who wrote for you must have linked to my site at Tant Mieux because you were in my log of Referrers and i tracked it back. Interesting how life works out, eh? So... fortuituous (sp? think is correct).
Off for now. Must get review into another venue otherwise i'll be toast with them and also get to work on the changes for the Mclean piece i've been doing hopefully for EG.
Cheers and over and out on both cheeks as a european greeting, and again, if you know how to change my number etc let me know...
over and out now for real, love,
sadivroooommmmmmm

Hi again sadi
Hope you had a nice weekend. We had a mini-heatwave here, I was in the garden, enjoying the sun quite a lot of the weekend.
It's always a good idea to do a quick search before writing about a subject if you're planning to get it into the Edited Guide, we already have an Entry on Epilepsy - A641260 We only have one Entry for any given subject, though some subjects are written from a different angle, and get in the EG that way.
We all have a unqiue Reseacher/User number, which cannot be changed, and can be very useful. Your number is 1636801 if you put a U infront of it U1636801 it automatically changes to a link, everyone's researcher/User number does that. Entries/Articles, those
that start with an A ie A4206674 do the same, but they already have the A
You can change your name, or add to it at anytime just click 'Preferences' or use this short-cut <./>UserDetails</.>
