Where can I find some info on starting a University project? I have looked around a bit (quite a long time ago) but not really found much info about how to propose a project, what sort of thing might be suitable etc.

And there are no limits or stipulations as to what your project could cover.

Thanks for that link.
I am really interested in all the first person accounts of events that have been posted to h2g2 and I feel very strongly that these form an important body of historical information that is not being collected or flagged in any way. They cannot become Approved Entries because they are personal recollections of events and yet are some of the most powerful pieces of writing on the guide e.g. the pieces on the Rosskilde tragedy, the demonstrations in USA last year, the Arab-Israeli Conflict etc. Is there a place to do this in the University? If not, how do I put this issue forward for discussion - Ask the h2g2 Community, the Feedback Forum or where?

That is a very good point. Usually some enthusiast will collect them and put all the links into one entry. Contact the editors to see what they say. It is very unlikely, however, that a new type of entry (personal experiences) will be introduced in the foreseeable future - there is, apparently, still so much technical work to do on the site. Better than contacting the - seriously overworked - editors, try at one of the links I gave you to ask the university in general, or ask the community ("Ask the H2G2 community") if anyone has already had this idea or has started work on it.
Key: Complain about this post
