Welcome to h2g2! I love getting here before the ACEs (who are the official welcoming party) One will pop by to tell you all sorts of exciting stuff, but for now just know that you've come to the most enjoyable place on the net. I know, it *is* rather, isn't it? I remember what I was like when I first came here (only 4 months ago ) and I was trying to go everywhere and do everything, just to get an idea of all that there is, but I soon realised that that was impossible.......I was a little in awe of the ACEs, too ....in fact, that's half the reason I drop by newbies pages if no-one else has posted yet, just to let them know that it's not only people who have to be nice that are nice around here......so who else has popped by...*checks* Ah! Galaxy Babe! She's nice and fun...and she more than likely will keep chatting to you if you want to ...just typed 'h'? As good a reason as any, I suppose... (this is an example of good, quality lurking )...hmm...you've certainly been very active, this is good.......blonde brownies? What heresy! Funny you should be in awe of the Aces - they are just Researchers like yourself who have been around a bit longer. Just because they are sanctioned by the Towers (h2g2) does not make them any different.

Galaxy Babe has just become one , in fact anybody can be an Ace who wants to be.

I found your remarks interesting and as an Ace, which for the very reasons you pointed out, I do not push the fact.

I didn't say I was in awe anymore... I just know that some ACEs are so busy that it's not really practical for them to carry on a conversation with someone they've welcomed.....whereas I lurk so much I always reply, it's usually them who don't One other point - what newbie knows that ACEs are volunteers and researchers just like them? I know I didn't.... So as you can see Gilly, everyone around here tries to be nice, even the evil ones...
