Hi Pedantic!

This is a personal/public admission of idiocy. I cannot (Victor Meldrew) belieeeeeeeeve that I have been so dense. Having for many years been in the upper echelons of secretarial/pa roles, there are few more pedantic than I. However, without being critical of others, I have chosen not to resort to Anglo Saxon. If I think that someone is behaving in a particularly nasty way, I have frequently referred to them as (gentlemen serving behind bar).

I have been responding to your delightful wit for so many months now its untrue; but it wasn't until 11:15 tonight that I looked at your 'handle' and thought "aagh" - its so obvious that I am so absolutely ashamed to have missed it for all this time.

Well you seem to have been the first one to have got it - or at least said so.

That doesn't necessarily mean you are the only one to have seen through it - just the first one to say so.

There are other 'handles' you should look at - particularly East Anglian ones.

Nothing whatsoever - I am afraid. It was just a line that rhymed. For some stupid reason, it irritates me when people add lines to limmericks that are wrong. Maybe I am just a pedantic B after all.
