Hi there! I'm androyd one of the Assistant Community Editors who have volunteered to help new members. Welcome to the largest collaborative writing project er...anywhere. Take a look at some guide entries and see if you can add to the collection. If you feel there is a subject you can write about try doing a search first to see what already exists. I recommend you visit here before you get going:

Also I don't know if you've realised it yet, but the guide is about more than guide entries. Try these links to make new friends or even get a virtual job. I did.

hi androyd!
no - the word is actually "war".
a little quote from john cleese's "fawlty towers" episode "the germans"....: "DON'T MENTION THE WAR!"
just a joke.
thanks for the warm welcome. i just read the writing guidelines and i promise not to try to be too funny with my next entries (i got slightly carried away with my first one though...).
i LOVE the idea of h2g2 and i'm looking forward to use it on a pda (palm v, handspring etc.).

Have you been eating too many hamburgers?

It's great to see your are already writing things. I liked the article on the red light district in paricualr. Some sound advice which I will bear in mind if I ever am lucky enough to visit your city. I hear there are one or two decent football teams in your area, is this true?
Since you have started writing already you may be interested in the following:

hey...
yes, there are 2 soccer teams in hamburg. but i'm not enough into soccer to write about them. I don't want to produce search results that contain no information....
If you liked the Hamburg article, just wait for the next ones...
I was quite disappointed to find almost no information about Hamburg. So I'm gonna write all I know (which isn't too much but enough for some entries).
Soon, I'll be working as a director on a tv documentary about hamburg's beat music scene in the 60's and 70's. This will also mean some nice entries for all Beatles fanatics. But it will take me a while.
...but i should better stop promising too much.
Thanks for caring so much about that new member "clifford". Isn't that a full time job? How many new members are your share of the work?
Anyway - feel free to visit hamburg. You won't regret. It's beautiful.

It's not that organised - I just repsond to those that respond to my greeting. Let me know when you post up new articles though since I spend a lot of time greeting newcomers I won't notice otherwise.
