I'll be going to Panay in November

Hi,
I will be going to Panay for a couple of months, starting in November. I already learned how to count in Tagalog, but maybe you have got an idea what else I would need to know when going there. I'd be thankful for any hints on what to expect, maybe what to bring.
I'll be doing some biological research there, so I don't know if I get the chance to have a look at everything interesting. But if I do, where should I go?
