New job-o-rama
Posted Feb 8, 2000
Through typically bizarre means, I've found myself in a new job. It's supposed to involve web design and other assorted computery things, but I've so far only received 1/2 of my computer total, meaning I've been waiting on a computer for a week. So, I have to accustom myself to a foreign computer, with a foreign OS that's supposed to be "easy" (ha!), and an increasingly unreliable internet connection. Things are supposed to get better, though. They reportedly are putting in a T1 line for me next week, and my other computer is arriving today, which is what they've been saying for a week, but at least I'll be able to get *something* done soon.
It's fairly amusing, though. I have my own office, which is kind of neat, and because not many other people here are computer-savvy, near-total autonomy with whatever I do.
By "computer-savvy" I mean that on my second day of work, people were coming in saying, "So is the website done yet?" It's fun, in a twisted way.
Further updates to follow, no doubt. From what I've seen so far...whoo...

If I ever, EVER in the future mention that I'm helping a friend move, please tie me down and talk me out of it.

This is what passes for a "Severe Weather Alert" around here: "MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW POSSIBLE FOR LOW LYING BEACHES"
Ooh, help, the sand's getting wet. What a joke.
