Spartus

It's you and your back from seeing Mr. Andypants and you're not over there and you're in fact again in my own personal time zone! *waves facing vaguely northward* Hi! I missed you too--it's QUIET around here withoutcha.

Probably doesn't help that I'm being quiet at the moment, too. I mean, have been, because I'm typing now and that's not very quiet, unless you have one of those fancy-schmancy quiet keyboards, which we don't. But I want a wireless one. Those are COOL.

Um, anyway. Hiya! smiley - smiley We're good, it's still frickin' cold, but less so--I'm told it is actually ABOVE freezing today, although I haven't yet been outside to check--they might be making it up. If it is, the guy who lives below us might be sad soon, because the two bags of ice that have been sitting on his back porch for two weeks may actually melt, although I'm not putting money on that just yet. I'll believe it when my chin doesn't get cold when I go out.

And it would probably help if I stopped putting my chin on his bags of ice every time I leave the house to check and see if they're still icy or not, because that just contributes to a problem that I have and that's just no good. I'm going to see a therapist about my chin fixation, I am. People get angry, it seems, when I set my chin on them to check their surface temperature--oh, you don't want to hear about that. Anyway. Er. Where was I?

We're good. Did I say that already? Stuff's good, I'm looking for a new job 'cause mine sucks and we're poor and stuff. Last night was really fun, though--'cause Oklahoma was playing in the national championship thing, we went to the store and were terribly irresponsible and spent thirty dollars on junk food with little to no nutritional value and sat and watched the game and cheered and cheered and cheered. Nigel cheered too. He said, "Me-yowl!" I think it was because he was hungry, but I'm not sure. He didn't eat any chips, so he might have been jealous.

Also, looking at his coloration last night, I wondered why no sports teams were named "The Cows", or, perhaps, "The Zebras". It's a lamentable thing, a noble animal like a cow not having minimally-educated, mammoth-sized, piggy-eyed folk representing them on an athletic playing field somewhere. It would make for great television--in their mottled black-and-white uniforms, the Cleveland Cows taking the field against the Zanesville Zebras, in their striped, African-prairie-camouflaged battle gear in an all-Ohio GRUDGE MATCH!

It'd be great, but I'm sure Ted Turner would try to colorize it. Ho hum.

So, um, yeah. Nigel's good.

Family is good, too. Already covered that. Although 'Manda go the ring that tried to break at your house fixed, so she's wearing that again, which makes me happy. smiley - smiley As for anything else we're doing, we're startingly dull, as we're still addicted to the silly game we're playing and so therefore are not around here much. In fact, shortly after I type this, I'm gonna go play it my own self. smiley - smiley

Our apartment is good. It's chilly, though. I think I already covered the "cold" angle, and it's one I know you're intimately familiar with, so I won't blither on that. Much.

Ooh! Ooh! We got a new TV right before Christmas! Yes we did! We used to have the itty-bitty 13" one that we watched all the time, ostensibly for our viewing enjoyment, but it was more like, "Is that the Simpsons, or...or...no, it's not even on." than actually ENJOYING anything that we "watched". No, so anyway, her work bought a new TV, and apparently the maintenance staff fixes up the old ones and sends 'em off to another dorm there, but someone suggested that she ask if we could have it, and they let us. Amazingly, I thought. So, we now have a pretty, pretty 27 inch TV sitting in the living room. The old one looks like a miniature model of a TV set sitting next to it. I want to put it by the computer, so when I'm doing something boring, like waiting for the 10,000 web pages I just opened simultaneously to load, because I'm impatient like that (yes, I know that's paradoxical and silly. It's a really, really bad habit), I can watch TV and stuff. Simpsons AND computer time. Bliss. We still need to get cable or a satellite (I'm leaning towards the satellite so I can get Lakers games--I have a color-coded schedule and everything), so we actually WATCH the big, pretty TV, but that can come later. smiley - smiley

Oh, and my mother finally got around to sending my camera out here, so I can take pictures of stuff. Once I find anything worth taking pictures of, I'll let you know. smiley - smiley

Oh, and we have YET to develop our Chicagamago pictures. We really gotta do that...

So that's what's going on here. Now, I can ask you without feeling guilty, what'd ya do over Christmas, sweetie? smiley - winkeye
