Just another day. Actually another Sunday which used to be a special day because it was the day I got up and went to church...but now it seems it is just another day. Cloudy here in the desert southwest of the USA. This reality isn't exactly what I had expected, but, it does have it's small pleasures. A family with 4 almost grown kids, two girls and two boys. The girls are as different as they can possibly be. The older is 20, for now, and seems to have pretty much gotten there with no idea of what the adult world is really like. Stagnated, for now, maybe a different approach to parenting will help. The other is 17 until February and appears to have been cognizant for some time of the basic complexity of the human condition. She has goals and is actively pursuing them. The boys are still adolescents with the typical attitudes of 15 and 16 year old boys. The older boy has adopted the more common attitude toward male and female interpersonal relationships. The younger is not as easily taken in when it comes to that aspect of life. The husband is a whole different story. We seem to be of the same basic belief system and are going in the same direction. This helps to keep the situation stable as it transforms into the next life stage. Besides, he's a pleasant person to have around most of the time. We all have our ugly moments and he seems to be exceptionally tolerant of mine. So, in conclusion, the reality I find myself in today is acceptable and something workable. Until next time...GP aka lw aka MOM
