If you don't want to interact with other researchers at the moment, after all, h2g2 can be a little overwhelming when you first join... Why not try searching the guide... if you have a subject that you like, then search for it, and see if the guide has a entry on it... If it hasn't then maybe you might think about writing one, tis a nice feeling adding to the guide. ~grin~ If you would like to find out more about writing a guide entry, then read this...

Me was just reading your journal entry... and me was saddened a little... me knows what it feels like to feel lonely in a crowded room... me guesses that through life, most of us feel alone at some point... its human nature...

Me encourages you not to dwell on that feeling though, you have a little girl me see's, me bets you are proud of her... two year olds are wonderful, me loves that age in children... ~grin~

Me hopes that you really enjoy the community that is h2g2... there are some really friendly people here... and some fun forums to join in...

Sorry if me has rambled on... ~grin~... me forgets myself sometimes...

You are right, it is just a little overwelming .... It may take me a bit to catch on to exactly what is happening here....

~grin~.. Me remembers well my first few times on h2g2... not knowing what to do... what to say... every forum me looked at... seemed to talking about things that me didn't know about... ~bigger grin~

Me guesses you could think of h2g2 as a huge family... no one minds you joining in a forum... start small is my advice... like this one... talk and enjoy... go to the newcomers page... there's researchers there who all feel like you... and you are lucky... when me started here... they didn't have such things... you were thrown in the deep end... ~grin~

Just go and look at other researchers home pages... see what they are up too... lots have things for you to do on them... ~grin~... just remember Douglas Adams' advice... and DON'T PANIC!!!

ok, here is a question.... are ALL conversations on here public? or can you have private conversations with othere people?

Well, the conversations are all public, if you know where to look for it - but if you start a new discussion on somebody's page, people usually don't interfere, or at least that's my experience...

OK, this is the point where I show my ignorance of this place, all I see for actual interaction in the Flamenco Tablao is the forums at the bottom that havent had any activity in days. Is there some sort of live chat around here I havent found?

H2G2 isn't like a chat room... where you can be guarenteed 'live' chat... mostly its post a message at a forum and then waiting for a reply... which could take a few minutes... a day... several days or a month... ~grin~
