The Lodger Has Landed

He moved in last week.

He gave me two weeks rent and a bad cold.

New Lodger

My new lodger will be arriving this week.

The theory is that this will solve my money problems by sharing the expenses of rent and utilities.

The downside is the loss of privacy.

Privacy is very important to me - a place where I can shut out the world and pretend that I have some sort of control.

Luckily, he's an auxiliary nurse at a local hospital and, due to shift work, we won't be facing each other trying to find areas of common interest too often and the whole process will be slowed to pace I can cope with.
He's actually a friend of a friend and we've been on nodding terms for a year or so. Hopefully, this means things won't be as awkward as they could have been.

Even so, my whole private life is about to be turned upside-down:-

No more walking around naked in the mornings.
No more leaving the housework until even I get disgusted at the state of the bathroom.

No more privacy.

Newcomer

This is my first foray into a new world, filled with potential and possibilites, wonders and wierdness (this alliteration business isn't as easy as I thought)

A New World

I'm fairly new to the net, having only had a PC for a few weeks during which it's only been used as a glorified kaleidoscope (ooh - pretty colours). I thought it was about time to "get out there"

I recently started a new job in the accounts dept.of a local government authority and it appears that, due to government policy, the majority of my colleagues suffer from various personality disorders and mental abberations which suggests that I was not hired solely for my accountancy skills.(Interview - "So, tell me about your mother")

I am making new friends at work and, due to government policy, am finding a surprising amount in common with them.

In one week, I will be taking in a new lodger and expect that I will have to change my habits more than I would like. I feel that my pet slugs will have to confined to a fish tank.

To add to this, I have just bought a new can of air freshener and I'm not impressed with the freshness of my air.
