I love SOME sci-fi, but some is just lame. Basically any series which is followed by a gigantic flock of anal people chanting figures like the magnetic flux resonancy of the Voyager shield drive, or whatever, is usually pretty lame. The Alien films, on the other hand, were beautiful and extremely well thought out (except Alien 4, which was crap, badly made and a disgrace to an otherwise brilliant series). Manga sci-fi rules...big time. What do you think?

I loved Alien, Sigourney Weaver was fantastic.
I also thought she was good in "Galaxy Quest", she just proved what a fantastic actress she is, by playing the bimbo!
You should try to see GQ, it's a light-hearted send-up of Trek...I loved it & I am a trekker!
Another sci-fi film I enjoyed recently was "Starship Troopers"...very action-packed...

Yah I am...I was going to see GQ but never got round to it...yeah I liked Starship Troopers as well - the ultimate Cheesy And Proud Of It film! But very good. If you're a trekkie, hope you weren't offended by my last comment :{
