Writing bad poetry I mean. Better write masterfully bad poetry than mediocre good poetry!

Well, hello there again! Juts wanna say, I have come across Raymond E. Feist in the meantime, he's mentioned in a book I have about fantasy novels!

I haven't really been reading a lot of fiction lately, so I haven't made any headway with Daniel Deronda yet, but I'll see how things go from now on.

I am very busy nowadays and I can't get started on Daniel Deronda. I think I'll leave it for later when its more peaceful. But what I have been getting into are tales of the old Celts in pre-Christian Ireland. I believe I am a descendant of these guys, the tales sound very familiar to me! Have you ever heard of these myths and legends, featuring Cuchulainn, the Dog of Ulster, and of Fionn McCumhail and the Fianna? These were a pretty rough bunch, but their exploits appeal to me enormously!

I've heard of some of it, but don't know it too well.

I had to stop reading Daniel Deronda due to
a. lack of time.
b. the fact I had to return it smiley - sadface I'll have to borrow it from the library here if they have it. I'm not holding up much hope...

Hi again! I'm lucky, we have a copy of Daniel Deronda here at home, as well as lots (thousands) of books I haven't read yet!

Speaking of books, you'll have heard that Douglas Adams passed on. He's been a major positive influence in my life, and I am sure will continue to be on future generations.

There are many Celtic myths and legends available online! The ones I read are Afrikaans translations from Irish, and it was interesting to me to compare the English and to see that the Afrikaans translations are very accurate!

Anyways I'm still having lots of fun from my reading, and you?

Hey, how are you nowadays? You're regularly around h2g2 but I haven't heard from you in a while.

I am currently trying my hand at writing fiction for the first time in my life. It's totally science-fiction/fantasy stuff and I like writing it a lot! Now I only hope other people will like reading it!

Eh, I missed replying to a few posts back there when I went away and never caught up. smiley - erm Sorry.

I'm very busybusy at work, and trying hard to keep up with studying, so haven't had time to read at all lately smiley - blue. I started a book too, but it's kind of collecting cobwebs right now. I hope you have heaps of success with yours! smiley - hug

What are you studying, by the way?

Today I borrowed a book by Raymond E. Feist from the library! He seems to be into the same kind of thing as I am, but more fantasy-like. My own stuff is set in an alternative reality, but it's very realistic - the magic that is there is of the same kind as the magic that is here.

I can understand that your book is not progressing very fast if you're so busy studying!
