Hello, I thought any further hints on the clue 1 answer thread would make it too easy for others so I'll drop a hint here. I'm feeling generous as you say you've never got a clue before.

Not pub, but pubs are definitely be involved, its an occasion!

Ah, I was wondering if I was giving the game away, but didn't know where else to talk about it. So uh... oh dear, you know I COULD just do a search for leprechauns and martians, but I was enjoying doing the 'who wants to be a millionaire version' You know: where he sits and says

"Well, it could be A, I think so, but then I'm not sure it isn't D."

"Do you want to use a lifeline?"

"I'm not sure. YOu see, I know it's not C, and B just doesn't look right to me, but I can't completely decide if it's D or A."

"I can write you a cheque here and now for $16 000, if you get this question wrong, you'll walk away with $1, 000"

"Well, I THINK it's D. No A. No... I'll phone a friend..."

And so on and so forth... Doing a search would be too easy, no?

But uh, what I was going to say was thank you for the clue

Naw, it was quite good (psst, I'm a scientist, so that kind helped a bit really )
Its impossible to tell how hard a clue is until people either get it immediately or moan. I think my new clue is really hard but I'll probably find otherwise before long.

Yay for scientists! I'm doing a science degree myself: majoring in mathematics, but I'm doing a physics subject just now.

And the best answer to that that comes to mind is the 'superfemale': the XXX genetic variant, but since I suspect that it's probably not that (although the guide has entries on more obscure things) I'm wondering if it might be in reference to lesbians. So that's the first line of enquiry I'm following.

I wouldn't mind an extra clue to help with yours, S,M or B. I considered Orcus' comment about being a scientist, but it suggested nothing.

Y'know, it's uncanny, whenever I get desperate enough to ask for help, I figure it out thirty seconds later...

Maybe I should ask for help with the next one. THat way I might work it out.

No He's very wily and tricky, that Orcus. I feel silly; I had to ask for a clue to the first one and now I need another. Maybe I'm not cut out for this paper chasing
