If life had a point, a clearly defined goal, it would be boring. We would all know what to do (a perfectionist's heaven.) Think of it this way, no one knows what your point of life is so don't worry be happy! Paranoia is pointless too, how ironic.

Yes life is very pointless! I hate it all! whats the meaning of it when all you feel for everything is guilt empathy and shame!! And you try and try and try to do something and the outcome is nothing! I want to die. so probably when you read this I will be dead! so have the most meaningless life ever then.

Ah, but you've missed the whole point of the pointlessness. Because life is pointless, there are two choices. One: accept it and move on living. There need not be a point. Choice two: don't accept it. Go out and find a point or a purpose and hide from the truth. It seems like most of the world has chosen the latter, but the first is more fun. Without a point to life, you can make it whatever you want. And to the person who talked about ending it all, a pointless life doesn't mean that it's not worth living, just that there is no clear and defined goal to shoot for.

here's a way to think about it. First off what are we without our memories and ability to think. We are nothing. If you have no memories of something and it has no effect on the current time then why do it at all? Its pointless right? well what happens when we die hum? well lets see oxygen stops going to our brains and the memories vanish poof! Ok now think of infinity what is the possibility of life in the universe ceasing to exist(or the universe being destroyed)? The answer would be 100%. Therefore i conclude life is pointless because a)memories that make us what we are are destroyed(our whole BEING) and b) our lifes have no true effect on anything

All i have to say is that everyone dies eventually, and once your dead nothing would ever have mattered in your life.... nothing does matter!

its true...once you die theres nothing, or maybe there is. I havent been in a position to find out!
And maybe life is pointless, because once you die thats it. But then I realised that what you do with your life has an impact - however indirect - on someone's life. So when we die everything we've done does matter, because its affected and touched someone else's life.
And maybe for some people thats not exactly a fascinating thought, but for me it is.
If life is truly pointless, whats the point of doing anything with it?
This might sound like complete and utter trite, and my sincerest apologies...i dont think this is coming out right, but ah well..
