You can call me TC Started conversation Jul 4, 2014
I recently came rather late to a hairdresser's appointment. Normally it takes an hour and a half - a cut, streaks, wash and blow dry. There wasn't time to do everything so she just cut and washed and we made a new appointment (this afternoon) for the streaks.
My hair is naturally completely white - past the grey stage now. It makes me look really pale and the hairdresser put in dark chestnut streaks - my original colour. We were always very pleased with the result and it looked natural but I made no secret of the fact that I had dark streaks put in.
Now I've been going around for over a week with short, white hair. It might look a bit odd if it suddenly turns darker. I must decide by half past two this afternoon if I'm going to cancel the appointment or not....

Cancel.
My wife is completely white and it is stunning.

Seconded... cancel
I would rahter like my hair to not go grey, or white... but... it seems this will just happen to me and, I think the best option would be that it just went 100% white full stop, and didn't go to any kind of half-way stage
White hair is definatley the way to go

Colour your hair to please yourself; noone else.
We all knew you dyed it anyway. (I don't know you obviously, but I'm pretty confident that I could pick out my friends and colleagues who are hiding their natural colour).

I've just sent a longish email to you on this and other granny related stuff that has been sent back to me.
Anyway, I hope it's not too late to root for the streaks. A good, and younger, friend advised me ten years ago to keep up with the cut and colour while I was working with a lot of younger women. I even had pink streaks at one stage.
I thought your hair looked lovely when we met.
I'm working my way to a granny bun, but need to keep colouring a bit if I don't want to look like a reverse badger - the sides are white, but the middle is still dark, and like my own granny the underneath at the back is still chestnut. Love to the tiddleypeep.

I've been colouring my hair for so long I can barely remember what it looks like when I don't do it (well, now mostly grey, judging by what it looks like when the roots come through). Auburn i think

I did think of green.
I cancelled that appointment, partly because one of my colleagues (age 25) said that she honestly thought it was fine as it is.
Now my husband is getting on at me to colour it. He says I'm far too young to walk around with white hair. Seen from his perspective I am young - younger than him by five years.
I suppose I could have it streaked again just before I go on holiday. Then it would have toned down a bit by the time I got back, and on holiday I would only see people I never otherwise see.
WS - does hair grow more slowly, the more advanced you get on in years? And surely you're not serious about a bun?

What's wrong with a bun?!; I put my hair in a bun sometimes... err, mainly to keep it 'out of the way', when I'm doing... certain things
oo... no... not green!; purple! purple! purple! or pink!

The younger colleague does NOT think it's fine. It makes you look much older than her. Listen to your husband. Apart from yourself, his is the only opinion that matters.
My hair grew a bit slower as a result of the cancer treatment (I didn't have chemo, so it didn'y fall out) now back to almost normal but the antihormone treatment means it's not as thick as it was. Only another six months though)
Now long enough for various updos. This saves me a lot of money, which I am now spending on manicures and pedicures instead of hairdos.
Two scrunchies make a good bun. While you are still working, as I said before, spend the money on your hair. You can go green or white when you retire.
