Ooooh, i just read them for the 3rd or 4th time and i read Feet of clay and Jingo too. I think that the Books about the guards are probably some of my favourites in the series apart from the ones about Death. Anyone who can sound like theyre talking in small caps is good in my books....

Thankyou for replying. Did you read 'The Fifth Elephant' yet? Also, my favourite part of Guards! Guards! is where Colon is explaining to Captain Vimes why Brother Fingers ran away:

(As you might remember, members of the Elucidated Brethren take an oath in which it is stated that knowlessmen shall have their figgin toasted upon a spike.)

'Well, we decided to have a bite, so I sent Nobby out to the baker's, see, and, well, we fought the prisoner ought to have something to eat...'
'Yes?' said Vimes encouragingly.
'Well, when Nobby asked him if he wanted his figgin toasted, he just gave a scream and ran off.'

What is your favourite part of this, or indeed any, discworld book?

Arrgh! Tough question... So many bits to choose from

hmmmm.... Probably the bit in The Light Fantastic with Rincewind and Twoflower in the confectionary house with the gnome:

"Do you think i could buy this place?" said Twoflower. Rincewind hesitated. He'd found it always paid to think very carefully before answering Twoflowers questions.
"What for?" he said, cautiously.
"Well, it just reeks of ambiance."
"Oh."
"What's ambience?" said Swires, sniffing cautiously and wearing the kind of expression that said he hadnt done it, whatever it was.
"I think its a kind of frog," said Rincewind.

I havent read the fith elephant yet, i can never find a copy when i think about it.
