God rest his soul, was a Methodist lay preacher, and as such didn't swear At All. But he did believe in what he called 'The Natural Law of Imbuggerance'.
And I guess by that he meant things such as the fact that your local pub starts to stock your favourite tipple (Magner's Vintage Irish 
, for those interested*), just as your 
orders you to go on the wagon for two months so he can get some blood tests that aren't affected by alcohol.

Possibly. But then something really annoying like getting hit by a bus might happen at the end of the two months, and you'd have spent all that time sober for nothing.

Getting hit by a bus is something I can control by using the green cross code.
A possible genetic disposition to high triglycerides and type II diabetes can only be controlled by medical means.

A sensible (though fun-cramping) trade, I think. As another with Type II Diabetes in the family I fully understand your motives.
Best of luck - hope the blood tests come back fine - and make sure your local keeps some of that on reserve for when you can partake once again!

It takes two months to clean your blood of all traces of ??? So I guess taking a couple days off before I go for my routine check up blood tests won't help then . . .
Thankfully two months will be up mid-September in case you end up taking that possible holiday you mentioned on my holiday thread.

A couple of days will help your help your liver, but not your blood tests apparently, az.
I'm guessing if I want to keep the blood sugars down, then is out and 
is in. But I shall sort all that out when I go back to see him.

Two months still sounds like a very long time to not affect blood tests - is this because they are special tests?
Are you also not supposed to eat any sugary foods? Or at least cut back on them?
