h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I don't really have any musical talent myself, but when it comes to music I'm like the mice in the 'Piper of Hameln' story... I hear someone play and I just veer straight towards it.

Anyway, now that we've met and 'befriendlisted' and all, I figured I should come and say a proper hello. You do sound like a very interesting person!

And you know, music talent is not really talent. What may seem like talent is actually just a lot of hard work. Hard work meaning one thing that I really hate right now....PRACTICING!!! Everyone sucks on an instrument when they start. Even really awesome musicians--they had to started out that way too. My cello teacher says it's a "path" that everyone is on. Everything's a path, I've found....

The postcards? Well, so far I'm counting 45, because I'm also counting a couple of pics and such that aren't exactly postcards. If you don't count those, it's 30-something. That's turning out to be a really great project, I think. Feel free to join in on the thread - or any of my journal threads, for that matter!

As for music... yeah, I know it's all about practice. It's like when I don't sketch for a while (which I'm afraid happens way too often) and can just feel how I'm 'rusting'. Maybe I _will_ learn to play something one day. *shrug* In fact, I always thought that if I do, I'll go for cello, because I love them so much; but now that I've had this nickname for so long and kinda got attached to it, I'm thinking maybe I'll start off on a penny whistle. That'd be pretty cool, actually.
