As for the yikesing, it was a silly argument that never should have escalated, but I think the name-calling on all sides was extremely childish, and am glad the mods decided to nip it in the bud. Perhaps they were a little heavy-handed, but I think they needed to demonstrate that being friends with mods doesn't let you run roughshod over the house rules, and a good thing, too.

Name-calling? I don't know the circumstances, but I thought that was what smileys were for

The name calling was childish, but only one person, one who was ancillary to the discussion, brought up the mods and "friendships" with them. And yea, that was a rather unhelpful thing to say. I personally don't think the yikesing helped matters but it's all done now.
