I too found the babel fish translator. However, the link it contains is no more. It is a dead link.
I had to wait another 3 months before a moment of complete tedium (much the same as any other weekday afternoon at work) forced me to see if I could find H2G2.
Having got here I find an eclectic and interesting entity. But not the description of the Babel Fish that I was looking for.
Oh the agony and the joy.
