I think I missed something that happened yesterday - are you back on pre-mod? confined to barracks?

I saw your fantasy thread which started out so hopeful for h2g2 (and must drop in to give anhanga a for calling it a fan-site ) but it seemed to go rapidly downhill and you seemed a lot less positive (dare I say, negative) by the 2nd page.

Did something in particular happen?

I don't want to second-guess, blame or otherwise pry, but I'd be worried if something had happened.

But I would say that by now we all know that this site is "robust" (sometimes verging on hostile, but I also think that everyone has to decide for that about themselves and yikes/ignore as appropriate). I saw the London thing from 603 and I thought it was exactly the type of thing that h2g2 in general and Ask in particular is good at (I had to at the overt and not so overt suggestions to google - Ask is supposed to be personal and help more than a search engine). I didn't see the moderated replies and I'm not sure - are they partly from you?

In any case what I want to say is that I would miss you if you weren't here, but I also think that you sometimes either seem to read the site (or the posts) in a way they weren't intended and then things escalate.

Have you considered a strategy of contacting the poster on their space and asking them what they actually mean by a post? with a few of these () to help grease things along?

I don't want to look like I'm pushing you around (that's most certainly not my intention) but I can see that despite the ups and downs you do want to be here and I do think you have a lot to contribute - for example, what I'd love to see is a regular update on your garden, for no other reason than it might give me the kick up the backside I need to get into mine <totallyselfish&gt

I'm caring deeply about this place and wanting to face up to reasons about stuff.

I am deeply upset at present though because I had some very bad news last night to do with the lovely Kurdish blokes in my local shop.

anhaga is in contact via email. But his daughter is unwell.
