spring seems to be springing - how's your garden looking? (mine is a complete mess but I have an essay due soon so no time to fix it)

I did quite a bit of heavy pruning this week of the English hedgrow shrubs I put in last year as bare rooted. So mild I was worried the sap may start to rise..befdore it had even fallen properly. smiley - laugh

Winter is supposed to start at the weekend though.

Otherwise everything fine.

And thank goodness a bit more rain of late so the pond is filling.

I spotted a leech the other day crawling along the surface meniscus. Otherwise the apparently pristine rain water thing looks fairly dead smiley - snork But they say it all goes on in the depths in winter.

Foxes are running amok every night though.

What's the essay on?

I've ignored my garden for a year, I feel terrible but I just didn't have the time smiley - sadface

Pruning... I really need to get out there with some shears, a fork and a spade and do something - not easy with the hours I keep though.

Ponds are great - we have never had one because our garden is titchy and the Gruesomes were in and out all the time unsupervised, but we get frogs a lot, they come in the house and scare the cat. He's so stupid really smiley - blackcat

As for the Essay. I'm studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics on the OU and the title is "assess the claim that economic growth can lead to healthier and happier societies" smiley - facepalm

Am feeling a bit better in myself.

I'd enjoy chatting with you about your studies if you ever want...I'm pretty well informed and well read...that's through the joy of learning.

Haven't actually read much in the last few years though because of health problems...but I have a fair photographic memory for what I read before...which was vast vast amounts.

I reckon I already read enough for a lifetime.

I still read poetry all the time though.
