I finally linked up my new h2g2 email addy to connect to my personal accounts at home. I see you recently sent me another one.

That's I tend to just run through my convo's when I have time and add comments. I tend not to like losing touch with those I respect, though I do accept some people merely transit through our lives and threads for whatever reason.

Oh dear, I do seem to have rubbed Fords up the wrong way, and I suspect he is an essentially nice chap - Closed minds thread - I am a bit naughty at playing mind games sometimes if I feel someone is being a little too judgemental, though that makes me equally guilty Impasse.

I really just try to have fun and a laugh here I get to play enough mind games at work I fear poor old Fords may have have caught me at a bad time. I just spent two days at Coroners inquest, as a witness not the deceased , the Jury thought I was a cultivated thug (stereotyping) and I had to work hard to win them round, though I do have difficulty in empathising with the sensitivities of others regarding death. Seen too much and dispatched too many to whichever deity they happened to support I never have a sleepless night over it, but I guess my cold heartedness is a coping mechanism, not a sociopathic tendency

norti, I don't know what you mean about the Ford's thing, but I've not been around much here in the last few days, having got a bit fed up with this place for various reasons.

With regards, 'empathising with the sensitivities of others regarding death', for me it's about the loss of a relationship when someone dies. I suppose it depends, as ever, on context. If you get to see the relatives/friends, and see their grief at loss, to me that is an altogether different thing from say a more impersonal knowing of death, such as when we hear statistics on tv. Personally I still find that upsetting too..but in a different way from the directly personal.

But maybe you've seen and experienced, very different things to me, as regards death?

Forgot to add. About a week ago my cat died. She was 20, so a pretty good age for a cat. But I was upset..still am, because of the relationship I'd formed with her. And she was a great mouser in her prime, highly intelligent..an all round special cat to me. And yet I'll happily eat meat, but then for me that's very different, because no relationship is involved. Well that's the way I try to rationalise it.

I guess was a good friend and companion, I am not without compassion. You will surely miss the company for a long time, it is alaways good to reflect on the fun memories, to maintain your companian alive in your mind

As for me and my experiences, thankfully neither you or a good deal of other people have not had to experience what I have seen and done. It was all done with clinical expertise and without joy or sadness. For me, it equates to merely the satisfaction of a job well done and objective achieved. Nothing more. A number of my colleagues, of those that survived, developed mental health issues,I am one of the few that am, I believe, untainted. I merely have a slightly ambivalent attitude to life and death - Do what needs to done and be on your way!

If it's any consolation I was with you on the "Differing views on opposing fascism" thread. You made some very good and erudite points, though I was beginning to feel it had run it's course with NTM, Tiggy etc. I was on the verge of unsubbing myself and leave it to some fresh debaters with new ideas. Which is what I shall do may be I will return later to see if anything has progressed.

I really wouldn't bother normally, but I think you are worthy of better postings and have demonstrated so on many occassions. This is what I sent to Maria Del Mar regarding Raymondo's post, I guess it equally applies to you my friend.

I am passing this information to you because it appeared to be of great concern to you, since you challenged me at least twice, followed by a diatribe toward from the rest of the sycophants.

Except we're all grown-ups here, and personally speaking I have nothing but contempt for someone who has such a little hissy fit because someone posts a bit of info about some marches taking place. I'm perfectly able to decide for myself whether or not I want to attend. I prefer not to have someone else deciding what's good for me to read. But yes those is rules; you are quite correct.

And as for 'pseudo-political organisation'..what a meaningles phrase. They are a political organisation. I happen to disagree with some of the tactics of the UAF, but I strongly support their aims..but that's by the by.

I immediately cancelled that account. I'd set it up because you said you wanted some info about some students visiting London.
