Intended writing something a bit diarified today in a bit of prose.
Wrote a couple of short paragraphs. One called 'Radio Silence', and the other, 'Reflections on a worrying few months - snork'
Both pretty rubbish. I find it really hard sometimes to write prose about the present..it's much easier when its in the past and its had time to marinate and ferment a bit.
So I'm not bothering to transfer my appalling hand writing, written on cruddy scraps of paper in a flat in Peckham, to the world wide web. But the titles will do.
In other excuses I appear to have the beginnings of some sort of viral thing..and feel irritable.
Just watched the first 3 episodes of an Aussie drama on BBC iPlayer, called 'The Slap', based on the novel by Christos Tsiolkas, starring Sophie Okonedo. Brilliant stuff.
Each episode is about various characters at a barbacue, where one character loses it and slaps a child across the face..and the resulting unfolding of the consequences of that, and how their relationships are affected. Just my cup of tea..convoluted quality drama. It really is good.
Here's an interview with the lovely Sophie.

Read and enjoyed.
I hear what you are saying about get stuff down in writing - it's something I often find *very* hard to do. I can go years, literally years, without producing anything I'm happy with. It's the reason why I was never seen on h2g2 between 2009 and up until recent times.
I'm getting my old-self back, writing-wise, and I'm quite enjoying finding my old abilities and producing new stuff.
But, I'm well aware that I could just 'dry up' in a day or two and then never get back to it until, say, 2015 or beyond.
It's a weird trait.

Glad you enjoyed DDD
What I was meaning was that I deliberately today tried to write in a prose way, that felt right to me, and met my high standards something happening today..like as if a Diary.
Luckily this a Journal and not a Diary.
When I say prose, I mean in a more rich way like you'd read in novels you enjoyed..not like 'texting' which I enjoyed playing with earlier in the month, when ahem on suspension..I did it on my name tag.
I could write about events in my past in a prose way..but it all gets blocked and disconnected for me when its about something happening today.
My brother is the opposite. For years he kept diaries..with quite expansive writing about his day's events.
But he was always a painter and drawer from a young age..maybe that made a difference.
Poetry was always my main thing.
I have big creative bursts of either, and yes like you can go for years and not write apart from posts on h2g2..which I do really enjoy as a prose form.
**
Tomorrow I'll try to write about something from the past, and see how easier or not that is....or just a lot of excuses today from me

Watched part 4 of The Slap. This drama just gets better and better.
Camera work brilliant.
Incidental music excellent.
Acting ace.
Story convoluted.
The Aussies do make some really good stuff. It's a bit like 'Lantana', but better almost I think..
Key: Complain about this post
