Well the 9/11 looks a bit...but that's our way.

How does one translate the word 'banter'?
There's a discussion here about translation. But I don't follow half of what the people on the thread are really talking about.
Banter is a total fundamental for me.
That's what I've always loved about his plce. And if they get rid of that here..I'll be gone for sure.

In real life my favourite people are excellent practitioners of this...be they close friends..acquaintances..or the guys up the local Turkish Cypriot shop. My favourite shop in Peckham.
The world defo needs more banter IMO. And yes half the time, you don't even know yourself if you are serious or joking. That's the whole point. It's creative. It's jamming.

Things have got enormously better for me on that thread after post 153 http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=8284626&post=110471874#p110471874

Who is this nebulous "they" you're worried about, Effers? No one is trying to rid this place of banter, and if anyone were to try, zie'd have quite a job.

Well I don't feel comfortable or relaxed to be playful and jam in a creative way here anymore.
Over and over stuff gets put in a box instead of someone running with it. It gets turned rigid..rather than exploring. I can't *play*.
In real life people I mix with do that automatically like second nature.
And because now I have no idea who is making decisions about me behind the scenes.who might even be on a thread I was just on...I just can't feel safe to be more exploring with ideas like I want.
I will close down myself here..it's the only way. Just be more limited.
So often I come to my space, day or night and the eyes are already on.I know I'm watched.

I just came back here after half an hour and the eyes were on.
Anyway that's not hugely important in the bigger scheme of things..

I'm quite excited to be talking in real life to people about the 'Occupy' movement here.
And I'm discovering just how complex it is. Not just the superficial stuff about tents and occupation..but a lot to do with ways of *thinking* And those are ways I like to think..like I spoke about earlier..creatively..exploring..stuff that artists always do.
So hopefully even if I feel less and less at home here..it'll feel like I do more in real life.
Go Occupy.
(And I mean that..but in the kind of complicated exploring way aspect to it that excites me...It might take a generation for stuff to really change...because people have got to *brave enough* to really challenge themselves in thinking and use of language.
After all the great cathedrals often took hundred s of years to get built.

Oh god this why I don't bother with newspapers anymore.
What a repulsive photo of those men..made me want to throw up.
I skimmed the article. Literally psychologically couldn't read it..it was a journalese parody of something I love.
Why do the media so often screw with the things that are dearest to us and turn them into something so meaningless and superficial and ing nonsensical?
But cheers BigAl and Dr. Zen..you just both made my day..
