This is another sequence from that film. Not as sublime as the first one I posted. More violent somehow and with out that brilliant music. But there'll be a few more sequences from war films here..or other stuff like that.
It's very helpful for me.

And it won't be any old gratuitous stuff..but stuff I like as Art..that's most important.

This film shows the Tornado's incredible manoeverabilty. No payload this time. It's almost like some kind of sea creature in the sky..the way it rolls and changes direction. It's amazing

This fighter jet has the lot though. Guns, missiles and bombs and all kinds of complex stuff to do with avoiding radar and a million other things besides.
I once saw one in the distance when my girl friend and I were at some godforsaken place on the shore of the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. it happened the Southend Air Show was going on and you could look across the Thames estuary at it in the distance.
This thread has gone off at a bit of a tangent at present.

And to be noted the way its wings will swing to different positions for different manoeuvres.

I got slightly muddled up between these jets. I think its the Typhoon that has everything.
But they are both totally awesome.
It's been a difficult day.
I don't know which it was my girlfriend and I saw flying..but they are quite similar in the air.
it is fun to have this thread to go off at a tangent like this..quite creative..well Art is and muddle will happen.

Having looked at various films of these on YouTube...purely in terms of Art, (that's what this thread is about), and emotion *not* aeronautical *engineering* I'm going for the Typhoon as my favourite. The Tornado is a bit of a show pony.

I'm switching to classic British adverts now.
Starting with some Hamlet cigar adverts. Those were the days when you could advertise smokes of various kinds. God they were funny. I'll pick a couple of my favourites.

Brilliantly funny.

Seriously Taff I think that Typhoon jet is absolutely brilliant. And you should look at that particular link for it with its full weapons payload..it's incredible.
It faces the jet and shows take-off and then soaring up stright up into the sky at an acute angle..rolling over and then shooting off. The shape is wonderful and all those missiles and bombs look so amazing underneath the wings.
Sound must be full on though.

I saw that one on YouTube and found it profoundly unimpressive..he's always the same dry cynicism..whatever he does.
I don't want my Romantic feelings about a Typhoon spoiled by him.
Having just now watched the Tornado video again..I'll say I like them both equally.
They dance differently..but both are wonderful.
It's like saying what do you like best a bat or a bird..

Taff I'm going to miss you so so much late at night. And you are someone who at least posts sometimes when they read stuff even if it isn't their interest..you look at it in your way.
I so want new people here. I think I maybe the only person with any interest in art on h2g2 apart from anhaga and he never posts here.
I'm so going to miss you. And your straightforwardness. I'm sick of geeks and anal types

Oh and people who lack courage. You know about what was said to me the other day about being wished dead in a certain way. So few people have been supportive of the outrageousness of that.
Well I'm *always* standing up to be counted now...with regards that. people are terrified or indifferent.

Actually if you have anything to say regarding that can you post in that journal. You may have nothing to say and that's fine though.

Haven't I posted here?
Been so bloody busy I lose track of things. And now I'm leaving on another trip tomorrow (for which I'm not ready.)
I got another `project thrown at me a few days ago with a deadline of the middle of October. Two brass dinner plates. Do what I want with them. Fundraiser.
The `plates have a sticker on the back: 'Made in Greece'. Sooo.....
I've downloaded a few pictures of Greek rioters and riot police. I'm going to modify them a little, put some hoplite helmets on some of the cops (coplites?), make them look a little Black Figure and then etch the resulting scene onto the circular middle bit of each `plate.
At least, that's the `plan.

Christ I know you're busy but you're the only other ing artist on h2g2. Even if you just posted a hi or something it would be nice.
This place is bloody isolating for creative people.
it's about the contact as much as anything. i'm sick of feeling the only creative around here..and people do lack courage about challnging themselves. Its so stagnant.
