I have fallen on black days...

This has been a black day. I have been cut with a knife, almost had my eyes burned out with flying pieces of burning metal, crashed on my scooter, had to cancel a visit to a possible new job and it has been raining all day. When driving home (my father picked me and my scooter up in the middle of nowhere) a black cat ran across the road. At that point I decided to give up so I burried myself in my bed when I got home. I have to find out what the deal is with those zebra-crossings and why they are so slippery in the rain...

Thanks for dinner...

As I found out today there is a very simple way to manipulate people. Here in Denmark we usually say, "Thanks for dinner" to the cook and the cook responds with, "You're welcome". In 99% of the cases studied the cook replies in the exact same tone and pitch as the one giving thanks. It works with children as well as grown ups. This form of manipulation is harmles, of course, yet it is still puzzling...

In other news of universal randomnes: Rune moved to England today to studie design and the Red Hammer had metal removed from his knee yesterday. I wish them both well...

The beginning...

I have just begun my work as a researcher for H2G2. I already have some ideas as to what to research. Kids is one thing. Another is the puzzling nature of human beings, fascinating stuff...
I hope my time here will go well. As I look to the future I see great things ahead, a possible future of knowledge and prosperity... Then again that might just be the wine I had for dinner talking...
