At least I'm still at the top of the most prolific posters list. Far ahead of you!
And I got you to post here again!
YAY!!!
Orcus Posted Mar 14, 2001
Indeed! Actually I was coming up you fast last time I looked, I must have done some heavy duty posting at this time yesterday as I've gone down from about 65 to 48.
Darn it!
(BTW. You must be a bit upset at the removal of languages other than English from h2g2. Strikes me as a bit Draconian, and one could possibly be harsher than that )

I am . Upset I mean. Hi Ottox. Good evening and that. I´m here for 24 hours. And still I don´t feel good. And now I am at a friend of mine, and he´s got a bad conection, and a slow computer and I am all depressed. Would anybody perhaps sing or dance for me, chear me up. I read this new h2g2 is a friendly, happy place, so I hope they won´t kick out the depressiv postings, and o god! Where is marvin rusting!

Yes! I'm more than "a bit" upset! But I'm surely not gonna leave (yet?) - things can only be changed if we stay!
For "foreign" languages - English is a foreign language if you ask me - the rules are in fact the same, as for English. The mode... censors(!) will read the posts, if they are uncertain whether a post is ok or not they will hide it until they know. I have full understanding that the m********s can't let non-English postings through (pour UK-centric fellers! ).
The h2g2 editors then have to find a person (at BBC) who knows the language. If it's a posting in some "strange" language that could take some time!
What we have to do is to make so many posts in "foreign" languages, that the BBC powers sees that the h2g2 editors have to have appropriate help for translating more than "one afternoon a month" or "five minutes each day" or...
As example (Bubblish because it was used a lot in the last week):
Abi is, with her own words, liaison coordinator for Bubblish. That's quite nice, but she is a busy woman! If the number of postings in Bubblish is big, she won't have time to read all of them before God knows when... We have to convince the Beeb, that more moderators, editors etc. who knows Bubblish should be engaged - that is, if they will continue with their paranoia.
So keep posting... the posts may get hidden, but they should be back sooner or later. WE are the ones who have to make 'sooner' be right!
And Engländer, German is for sure an "accepted" language, (that means (I think) that "they" know someone who can understand it - FANTASTIC! ) Mark Moxon said so himself in one of the threads about these things...
Ooooh... am I babbling or babbling!? If it's confused nonsense what I've just written, that's because, well...
I *must* be upset! This is probably one of the longest postings I ever made...
In English that is...

Er... as someone I knew used to say -"Can opened, worms everywhere!"
Actually, I completely agree with everything you said. I'm from the UK but I'd much rather have a worldwide h2g2 than a UKcentric one. Of course English is a foreign language to those outside the UK and USA (plus others of course). I didn't say it above, but is does rather smack of racism. Keep up the fight!
Now I will get upset if you top the most erudite posters list as well now!

Interesting. Somewhat appropriately for this conversation, I've just been moderated!
Strange how my Queen lyrics have been removed as they are copyrighted by someone else but the earlier post with the Chorus hasn't been.
Oh well, at least I know I remembered the words correctly!

Ottox Posted Mar 14, 2001
Oooh... about time I came back! You're getting close!
Did you get an e-mail? Was your text included in it? Could you please forward it, I want to know what was posted to *my* page!!!
YAY!!!
Orcus Posted Mar 14, 2001
Close! I was top (at least alphabetically speaking) when I last looked
Yes I did, I'll look on h2h2chat for your email adress.
YAY!!!
Orcus Posted Mar 14, 2001
I tried to forward it Ottox but it keeps coming back. Unfortunately I can only see the begining of your email address on h2g2chat so I had to guess at @yahoo.com - could you correct this?
Orcus

Ottox Posted Mar 14, 2001
Well, I had some bad news RL that was more important than posting on h2g2...
There's an email-address at my page. (My name! )
YAY!!!
Ottox Posted Mar 14, 2001
Hehe... I'm not sure, I only use that address for the Yahoo groups. It's probably yahoo.dk
YAY!!!
Orcus Posted Mar 14, 2001
How foolish of me not to look at your homepage first, tsk.
I'll get to it.
Hope your news wasn't too bad, RL can be a bummer sometimes.
YAY!!!
Orcus Posted Mar 14, 2001
Sent as requested! Hope it gets through this time, sent it to that yahoo address as, call me stupid or but I couldn't see an email address on your homepage.
You've had your homepage a bit massacred haven't you. Shame, I was thinking of joining the Classic Goo fan club, but if you can't get a pretty logo on your homepage anymore, what's the point?
YAY!!!
Ottox Posted Mar 14, 2001
It shouldn't be too easy to find the address, should it?
It says: "Hej! (a Danish word, not moderated!) Welcome to my page! Ottox" - 'Ottox' is a link!
The reason for joining the Classic Goo Fan Club should be that you're a fan of Classic Goo!
YAY!!!
Orcus Posted Mar 14, 2001
Well, I am. I just wanted the logo thingy too .
Glad you finally got that email, I'll go and have a look at that song you told me about. You had me worried when you said the sight was down - every time I get to number one on the prolific poster list that seems to happen. Maybe I'm cursed
YAY!!!
Orcus Posted Mar 15, 2001
Heh! Just looked at your song on Dragonflys birthday, very appropriate.
It would easily get on here though. All those asterisks? Just what they're after.
I usually issue curses! I'm damned, not cursed (at least I hope so )
YAY!!!
Ottox Posted Mar 15, 2001
Well, if you want to know, it's in the "Greetings, Ottox" thread in this forum. It's not that bad... to me, anyway!
