I hope you have some better luck soon, and am glad to hear that you are not so cynical as you might be. I was having a similar conversation with a bloke I met lately, about the need to stay positive, and that its not that hard to do so.

Dearest Jen,
This summer there were lots of Zennias, we call them Old Maids here in the southern US because they last so long. I have some that have come back this year at the garden here at AnnaNorseGoddess' house where I am renting a room for the semester. I have been too ill to work in the garden this year unfortunately. I hope the new medicine that I will start taking next week will help.
I am looking forward to seeing what is planted when I go back to Fairhope this weekend. I know they will have changed out the beds or expect them to by now.
Thanks for the encouragement, I need it these days. I was very cynical when I was younger. But now am much too spiritual to let bitterness spoil my life. I do have bouts of serious depression but manage to keep going. Pick myself up, dust myself off and put my blinders on with a happy heart heading down the path again.
Please tell me about your flowers if you have any growing in your garden right now.

Hi JLC,

at the moment there are sweet peas grown from seeds I saved last year, some are in a spherical blue vase on the kitchen table. There is Spinach and rocket for salads growing in the front, and green tomatoes which unless the sunshines soon will have to be chutney!

There are french marigolds, and hibiscus, pansies and the asters that Mina gave to my flatmate are almost in bloom.

Life is good, the weather is changing, and autumn is on the way, but it has been a lovely summer of sunshine in the park, festivals and flowers and fun and misbehaviour. I've picked blackerries in secret hidden spots in the middle of the city and been streaking wth freinds in the rose garden of the municipal park.

How was your summer my dear? Hows things??

Yes my nieve = niece, Sophia is doing great. She turned 2 on the 1st of December. I hope you got my Happy Birthday wishes to you for the 28th of December in the Feliz Cumpleanos thread. The love boat is setting sail for Miami with Mr. Wonderful next week. I am invited but staying in Fairhope. My last post in this thread shows that I saw the ship sailing before it decided on a port. Hope the waters have been sweeter for you and that this year will be even better than last.

I was hanging out in Sobe. South Beach, I thought it was a fashion designer for 2 months before I figured it out on all the billboards around town. I am back in Mobile and Louisiana for the Holidays. I think I still feel the same way about my parents, maybe moreso. If there is something special out there for me, and I deserve it and all that rot, I'm no longer spoiling for it. Been a long year. Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year. Court case goes to AL Supreme Court, politicos have the local and regional judges giving no opinion on the appeal. It won't hold up. Keep you posted over the years to come but the dateline is not Fairhope, I will have to fix that. Still I want to plant some sweetpeas this time of year. You plant them in
