Welcome to h2g2 - The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Earth Edition.

You're now a researcher for The Guide, so congratulations are in order. As a researcher, you are now able to submit entries to The Guide, join in conversations on the website, and generally do as much as you’d like to make Douglas Adams' dream of a user-created guide to Life, The Universe and Everything a reality.

I know you’re very busy, planning your first entry, so I won't take up much of your time. But there are a few important things you need to know.

The first thing many of our researchers do is introduce themselves by starting or joining a conversation. The main hub for social networking is The Lounge, a place leading you to various forums that range from science questions to general chat. You can find that here: http://h2g2.com/thelounge/ which is accessible through the main menu bar at the top of every page. hope you'll want to write something for The Guide. You can do this by clicking the "Write an Entry" button that’s displayed on the right hand side of every page. This can then be submitted to our Peer Review section, where it will be checked by our volunteer editors before being included in The Edited Guide.

h2g2 even has its own newspaper, The Post (see the main menu bar), to which you are also welcome to contribute anything from poetry to real life photos, it's a great place to get writing.

Create (also on the main menu bar) runs a monthly challenge taking part is really easy and they also welcome all sorts of writing and pictures based on the monthly theme.After all that, you'll need a might need a coffee or something stronger.
