Hi there and welcome to h2g2! My name is Amy and I'm an Ace (or assistant community editor) here at h2g2. We are the meet-n-greet group here, and I am here to welcome you and answer any questions you may have about how the site works, and any sorts of things like that.

To answer the question on your introduction - what the Italics (the paid editors, named so as their names appear in italics in forums) mean by that is actual addresses or phone numbers or full names - it depends on how parinoid you are about that sort of thing. Wherever you draw the line at with people knowing personal info is where you stop in a description. If you look at my introduction at U50994, I have my first name, where I go to uni and live - but obviously not any of the specifics that would necessarily track me down if someone were frightening enough to want to do that. Some researchers have more or less than that - it really depends on where your line of comfort lies.

That said - if you've any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Instead of inundating you with links, I'll let you ask the questions and explore the site for yourself - it's really the only way to learn.
