I've seen them putting subtitles over other Scottish programs,
it's not that unusual

I really haven't seen anything like that, unless the programme is in gaelic.

no... it was before the push to get more children to learn the language
but I used to get up really early and watch the english language version and then when mum got up later I would pretend I could understand and tell her exactly what was happening
