Chai's account of the demon thingy was very interesting and reminded me of various 'visualisation' therapies where a person does something similar but without calling it a demon. I don't know a lot about that, just snippety things I have heard and read.
I once did a 'body memory' sort of therapy where I had to ask the body feeling what it was, what were the worst and best things about it, and finally what that feeling or memory needed - what I could do to help change , or at least understand, the body feeling. It wasn't about illness per se, rather about stored up memories that could not be accessed consciously through the mind but still existed someplace in the body. I found that quite interesting.
