Just wanted to say hi. It's been a while and I hope you've been OK.
You Are Loved (courtesy of the WLCollective - you'll be getting your own message soon) and I hope you know it. This is my night for leaving mini-messages, so I'm off now...

Oh, Fenny, thanks.
I am back in the UK, and well, but tired.
It is always good to be told someone loves you. Sometimes it is easy to forget that.
With love to you
Ben

Hi Ben! Welcome back! I hope you've recovered! Are you back for a break, or for good? I wanted to ask your opinion (I'm sorry for this one, but you're the most sensible h2g2 person I know of, and I'm having difficulty distancing myself) on a thread I've been involved in. Specifically, it's a thread called Love Islam, Hate America, and I've been going head-to-head with someone of opposite polarity to me. I'm finding this hard to type, because I'm more biased than I'd care to admit (we've been discussing Israel and I've tried to stay on the Fence). It seems to me that I'm being knocked off the fence and onto sharpened steel spikes - I wondered what you felt about it? We start discussing here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F76594?thread=140883&skip=700&show=20 (post 730) and on for a few pages, then we carry on talking (arguing?) here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F76594?thread=140883&skip=860&show=20. My protaganist is called ME@SF. Maybe I'm imagining the discomfort ("Nobody Expects The Spanish Inquisition!") but I do feel quite battered now, and I'm unwilling to go back for Round Three. The last couple of posts that I've made, I've tried to open the discussion to the floor, but no one has joined in. I'm sorry to ask you to read it. Please don't investigate if you don't want, and certainly not until you have time - I'm only trying to get a more unbiased opinion, and I don't want to pressure you while you're tired. Please tell me I've been silly and have been imagining things - I'd prefer to hear that I've not come off the fence, an that there was no cause for concern... Thanks Ben. x x Fenny (still seeking Zero Intolerance)

"Protaganist" should be "protagonist". Oh, well, it's late!

Hi Fenny
I have read the backlogs, but I am too ignorant on the subject to make any coherent assessment of what has been said. But I have waded in with a couple of cents worth. I'll hang around there for a while so you don't feel so lonely. Wish I could help more, but it is a subject I am woefully ignorant about. Sometime I'll tell you my Mossad story though!

Fascinating, I'd love to hear it!
Seriously, I wouldn't feel so uncomfortable if I didn't feel ME and I (pun intended, sorry!) were just throwing our relative learned propoganda at each other. I do try to sit on the fence, but I never get that impression about ME@SF (although they have suggested they do as well). For example, I had never heard that Balfour was anti-semitic, and I *had* heard he'd done good things towards Israel. So who's right? where's the truth?
Censored out the bit where I just went crying to mummy, sorry, you didn't want to hear that (besides, you'd have made a very *young* mummy- I'm 29!). Generally, it's an equivalent to the British Army in Ireland, and the British non-Jews don't want to be reminded of that. I'd better stop there, you don't want to hear the rest of the rant!
Sorry I got wound up, and Sorry again to have come and spilled to you! It's more than a couple of hours' worth of reading, and I know you have better things to do!

Fenny, I have been so blessed in my friends, that I have a massive karma debt to repay. What goes around comes around, and the only way I can repay is to help my friends again. I am honoured to have been asked, and just wish I knew enough to be helpful in there.
Any time, my dear. The Willem Love Collective is about Love as well as Willem.

Thanks Ben. I like what you say about the Love Collective, and I will remember that.
I saw you had posted to that thread, and further, that I had reopened the question to two people who are better suited than I am, to arguing on the pro-Israel side. I know there is more than we hear from the BBC, but what can we do - BBC has wider views than Pravda ever had, and it's never going to be possible to provide a newsdigest that tells the full-full-full unbiased story!
Thanks for your help and answers at the time. I needed them, and I am proud to call you friend!

Real oddity here, Ben: you may have noticed (I posted on teh WLC page as well) but the "Words of Wisdom, Guiding Lights" Entry has been moderated out! Do you know what's happened?

It has happened before. Sometimes people add too much copyright material. I'll check it out either on Wednesday evening or Thursday.

Congratulations on your imminent purchase. Are you exchanging contracts, or have you just made an offer? Or are you about to move in? We're getting excited because we want to sell up in Leicester and move closer to London, and we have a Punter coming to look around on Saturday.
So good luck, congratulations, and I hope you enjoy the new flat. Where is it (what area of the country?)

Well good luck. Appreciate the pitfalls, but nothing is as well valued as a possession that is hard to acquire... (Deep Thought sponsored by "White Wolf").
