Deserted??
Posted Jan 11, 2001
Well, OK, yes, for a while. I had some stuff written here, particularly just before a trip to the UK, and it was all real and true. After I got back, of course, it seemed twee and too personal, so I dumped it. Of the moment, gone in a moment.

I'm too weary to rest. (Catatonia)
I'm not really, I just like the sound of it. The last time I said it with feeling, and meant it, was the night before I left the UK to return to Canada, after a seven-and-a-half year stay. All the things that need to be done finally having to be declared either done or just not going to be done, as we sat and drank to the occasion up at the Bowl.
Now, here I am packing up for a return visit, over two years later. Not nearly so weary. Not nearly so torn with those feelings of both returning home and leaving home, at the same time. Still, there is a small sense of going home for a visit when I think of the friends I'll meet up with while I'm there. So, here's to the occasion.

As is the case with all good guidebooks, I've learned something too late. Don't use markup here.

round bottles

I've been thinking about bottles. Where are we at, in the big map, when we are still packing round bottles into square boxes?
